Playful sandwich art is not only loved by kids but it’s also a great way for you to flex your creative muscles in the kitchen. You don’t need anything fancy or any artistic know-how. Follow these simple tips and you’ll have your kids smiling with delight when they sit down to lunch.
Preparation time: 10 minutes Difficulty rating: Easy
Ingredients
1 sandwich made by you using nutritious wholegrain bread or gluten free bread, depending on dietary requirements
Carrots sliced into long thin strips and one flat carrot piece cut into a triangle
A couple halved cherry tomatoes
Cucumber slices
Nuts, seeds or raisins
Tips
- Use the images we’ve created to guide you. A very simple and versatile cut is to lay your sandwich down and cut the bottom corners off, just like we’ve done.
- Then you can play around. Move the triangles into different configurations to create an owl, crab, grasshopper, a strange looking face, or anything else that comes to you.
- Use your vegetable slices and other ingredients to make faces, trees, tails, little flowers, etc.
- Be creative and have fun. Your kids will be delighted with whatever invention you whip up.
