The Western Australian Museum is a museum comprising of six sites that are in the cities of Perth, Fremantle (Maritime & Shipwreck Galleries), Albany, Geraldton and Kalgoorlie-Boulder. This article focuses on one of the Fremantle branches called the Western Australian Maritime Museum.
The Western Australian Maritime Museum aims to inspire its visitors to discover Western Australia’s affinity with the ocean.

Accessibility
The Western Australian Maritime Museum is currently undergoing public consultation in regards to its Disability Access and Inclusion Plan to ensure people with disabilities can access and experience the museum’s activities and facilities. Manual wheelchairs can be provided free of charge at the museum. ACROD parking is also available. It is also possible to visit the WA Maritime Museum by train, bus and ferry (see here).

Cost
On the second Tuesday of every month there is entry to the Western Australian Maritime Museum by gold coin donation.
Every other day, there is an entry fee for the museum and an additional charge for going on the HMAS Submarine Ovens (an Oberon class submarine). There is a cheaper combined price if you wish to enter both the museum and submarine.

A family pass is for up to 2 adults and 3 children.
Annual passes are available for $2 extra per person or $3 extra per family.
Opening hours
The Western Australian Maritime Museum is open from 9.30am to 5.00pm, 7 days a week.
On ANZAC Day (25th April) it is open from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
The museum is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and Good Friday.
