New Farm Park is one of Brisbane’s oldest, grandest and largest parks, and attracts more than 18,000 visitors each week from all around the world. It is also a popular spot for local families, with enough amusements to keep little ones busy all day.
Activities include:
- A sprawling (unfenced) playground set among the towering fig trees. The trees are perfect for climbing on and the playground includes swings, rockers, a fort and a big climbing frame.
- Lots of green space for games – bring the Frisbee or ball.
- Plenty of shady spots for picnics or a snooze under a tree.
- A pretty riverbank for strolling along and watching the boats cruise by. You can even take a ride up or down the Brisbane River aboard a ferry or city cat.
- A beautiful rose garden – the perfect spot for those family photos you’ve been meaning to take!
- An ornate bandstand dating back to the early 1900s which regularly hosts entertainment for park goers.
- A farmers market which springs to life at the neighbouring Powerhouse every Saturday morning with delicious fruit, vegetables and specialty foods for sale.
- Family friendly events, workshops and dining at the Powerhouse, especially during school holidays.

Brisbane’s warm and sunny climate makes New Farm Park a great spot to visit for a morning, afternoon, or even the whole day! Pack hats, sunscreen and water bottles for your visit as the Queensland sun can be scorching hot.
Accessibility
New Farm Park is mostly flat and has wide concreted paths that access the main attractions. There are also toilet facilities for people with a disability.

- End of the Road Coffee shop serving breakfast, lunch and refreshments.
Cost
Access to this beautiful and expansive park is free! Bring money if you wish to ride a ferry or purchase a coffee from the café. You may also need money to pay for parking as New Farm is an inner city location.
Opening hours
The park gates open at 8.30am each day (sometimes earlier on weekends) and close at 11.00pm at night. However, many people use the park outside of these hours.
